I was injured on December 4, 2004 while returning to base, when an IED exploded as our Humvee drove over it. Medics quickly arrived and tended to my wounds. My right ceratoid artery was destroyed, and my jaw was broken. I suffered a stroke from loss of blood, and my right arm received multiple injuries caused by shrapnel.

I was air lifted to Landsthul Germany and then transferred to WRAMC where I continue to recover. Sadly, in this attack, my squad leader and another team member were killed.
