"By most accounts, Adam Kisielewski should be dead. But he's more alive than ever before... More alive than most of us."

Adam Kisielewski was born on Oct 2nd 1983 in Kenosha, Wisconsin. He attended Mary D Bradford High School and joined the Marines "Delayed Entry Program" during his junior year when he was 17. When Kisielewski graduated early in January of 2002 he left to attend Basic Training.
While Kisielewski was training as an Infantryman (0311) at Camp Pendleton, CA he was hand selected to serve as a "Yankee White" (part of the USMC Security Forces selected to serve the President directly).
After completing his required training Kisielewski was stationed at 8th & I Marine Barracks in Washington D.C., where he served as security for the Commandant of the Marine Corps and the CNO of the Navy along with numerous other flag officers. Eventually, Kisielewski was selected to serve at Camp David to provide security to the President and the First Family.
After completing his service at Camp David, Kisielewski rejoined the Infantry and received orders to serve with the 2nd Battalion 2nd Marines, Golf Company in Camp Lejeune, NC. After completing the "work up" Kisielewski deployed to Iraq as a squad leader and operated around Fallujah, Iraq. In Al Karmah (a small city just west of Fallujah) Kisielewski was severely injured after wounds received from an IED blast while patrolling a school that was known to have insurgents hiding there.
Kisielewski had his left arm and right leg amputated and nearly lost his left leg. After more than a year of recovery at Bethesda Naval Hospital and Walter Reed Army Medical Center he medically retired from the Marines as a Sergeant.
After his retirement from the military in October of 2006 Kisielewski worked as a project officer for the US Army's Telemedicine & Advanced Technology Research Center helping to develop better technologies to aid servicemen and women including better prosthetic devices. In his free time he began volunteering with Operation Second Chance, a 501c3 nonprofit that assists wounded service members and their families.
Currently Kisielewski works full time as the Vice President for Operation Second Chance. He attends classes at Mount Saint Mary's University in his free time and lives in Thurmont, Maryland with his Wife and Son.
"I am so proud to have had the opportunity to serve my country and now those who serve us. It is highly gratifying to get to be a small part of something so much bigger than myself."
