My name is Pauline Bowser and I am a wounded warrior’s wife as well as an Army veteran. In the Army, I was stationed in San Diego for three years as a veterinarian for the Marine and Navy working dogs as well as the Harbor Police dogs. My husband has served in the Marines, the Navy, and is currently an infantryman in the Army National Guard.
I never had the opportunity to deploy but my husband has deployed three times to Iraq. We are currently stationed at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, MD as he recovers from injuries sustained during his last deployment. I recently completed my Masters in Criminal Justice but have developed a true passion for helping wounded warriors and their families during our two years at the hospital.
We have received so much support and encouragement during that time, it only seems right to try to give even a portion of that back. We do not have children yet but we do have a Boxer and a Pomeranian who think they are human. I am so excited to be a part of Operation Second Chance and I hope that I can help them even half as much as they have helped my family. Thank you OSC!!
I plan on helping in any area where they need assistance to include social media and events coordination. I chose this organization because its mission is in line with my own person feelings and the individuals involved do not only work at OSC, they are OSC. The organization is run from the heart and based on a true desire to help those that have fought for our freedom.
As a wounded warrior's wife and a veteran, I have experience that will help me to relate to those that we serve and enable me to understand better their needs and how they feel. Helping OSC will give me the opportunity to continue to serve in the military community and to give back to those who have done so much for me.
Each day is a step toward my lifelong goal of paying back by paying it forward.
