What Is Operation Second Chance overhead rating?

We just received our audit back saying we have a 10.1% overhead rating!

Is Operation Second Chance a non-profit 501(c)(3) Organization?

Yes, OPERATION SECOND CHANCE has been designated a 501(c)(3) organization. Our Federal Identification Number is 20-2624345. If you would like to view our confirmation letter, please click here (PDF).

Why is there a need for Operation Second Chance to help our Severely Injured Military? Shouldn’t the Government be doing this?

The Government does an excellent job at getting our warriors patched up and back on their feet. OSC is able to help work with the government to get things done much quicker and without the red tape of a bureaucracy. OSC also provides assistance to our warriors long after the government’s job is completed in a way that only a non-profit organization could do.

Do you pay excessive salaries to your board members or staff?

Absolutely not. In fact we pay out less than $130K (which includes benefits) annually for all of our employees! Everyone staff member that collects a salary has voluntarily taken a substantial pay cut from previous jobs to ensure every dollar possible goes right back to the troops.

Is there a preferred way to donate to OSC?

Although there are many ways to DONATE NOW to OSC, the preferred method is through checks or in person. This allows for 100% of your donation to go to OSC without any 3rd party fees.

Can I donate clothing and other items to OSC?

Although we certainly accept gift cards, phone cards, holiday and get well cards, and other smaller items to directly give to the troops we generally do not accept bigger items. In the past we used to accept clothing food and other items but due to a shortage of space for OSC and the troops we no longer accept such items. Can I volunteer for Operation Second Chance?

Absolutely. We rely on many volunteers routinely in assisting us in several different ways. We are not currently able to allow volunteers in to the hospitals due to hospital regulations. If you have more questions about how to get involved click on VOLUNTEER under GIVING.

Are there other ways I can help in my hometown?

Spreading the word about what we are doing helps us no matter where you are in the world. As a Grass-roots organization we rely on you for our advertising. Get people to visit our site and find out who we are. Our mission says it all but you make it possible.

Does OSC participate in the Combined Federal Campaign?
